Analisis Fungsi Sosial Lembaga Agama dalam Meningkatkan Pendidikan Anak pada Keluarga Ekonomi Lemah (Studi Deskriptif pada Gereja Bethel Indonesia di Medan)

Abstract

Poverty according to the Ministry of Social Affairs ( under Suharto , 2004) is " a state of deprivation experienced by a person or group of people outside the desire concerned as events that can not be avoided by the strength or ability. the role of social institutions of which is believed to have empowerment programs to alleviate poverty is the church . The Church is one of the religious institutions. The purpose of this research is the analysis of the social function of religious institutions in improving the education of children in low-income families ( Descriptive Study on Indonesian Bethel Church in Medan.Populasi study were all Diakonia Department staff and administrators Shelter Children Relief Indonesia Indonesian Bethel Church in field). This type of research is a descriptive study The results of this study by the Institute of Educational Functions of the Church , Church Functions Rescue by Institutions , Social Monitoring Function ( Social Control ) by the Institute of Church , Function Nurturing Brotherhood by Church Institute . Suggested Need to maintain the social function of the church for the community in general conclusion from this study is that the church as a social lermbaga very functional in a very functional in improving the education of children in low-income families . Need to develop the strategy and innovation needed to improve the social function of the church .
