Hubungan Budaya Kerja Perawat dengan Kualitas Asuhan Keperawatan Berdasarkan Perspektif Pasien di Ruang Rawat Inap Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. Pirngadi Medan

Abstract

The main key of progress is important in improving the quality as well as the culture in carrying out supporting health care. Work culture has an important influence on the improvement of nursing care quality. Many patients have expressed their personal experiences in receiving direct nursing care from nurses and wished the care received is qualified. The objective of the study was to identify the correlation of nurses' work culture with nursing care quality based on their perspective. This research used correlation study design. The study was conducted at RSUD dr. Pirngadi, Medan. It used purposive sampling totaling of 89 people consisting of nurses and 89 people patients. The data were gathered by using Nursing Culture Assessment Tool's (NCAT) to assess the nurses’ work culture, and Patient's Assessment of Quality Scale - Acute Care Version (PQS-ACV) to assess the quality of nursing care. Statistical test used the Pearson correlation test. Based on the results, it was found that p-value = 0.00<0.05 which indicated that there was significant correlation between work culture and nursing care quality at r = 0.424, which indicated that the strength of the correlation was in the category of 'medium'. It could be concluded that the better the nurses' work culture was, the higher the quality of nursing care. The results of this study are expected to be an input so that it can maintain good nurses' work culture and high quality nursing care.
