This study deals with English classroom discourse analysis of SMA Negeri 1 students Tanjungbalai which analyzes using Martin model of classroom discourse analysis. This study is aimed to discover the types of speech function, Mood, and move, to explain the pattern of moves are realized in English classroom discourse. Qualitative analysis is used in this study. The data is the students' utterances with the teacher recorded from the conversation in the classroom interaction. The source of data is the second year students of SMA Negeri I Tanjungbalai class XI IP A 1, XI IP A 2, XI IP A 3 in the academic year 2015/2016. The instrument of this research is Sony-audio tape recorder and notebook then researcher herself who transcribes, identifies, and categorizes the data. The findings of the study show that: (1) There are 8 types of speech function which has 554 occurrences, (2)There are 5 types of Mood which has 643 occurrences, (3)There are 15 types of move in which 9 exchanges of information and 6 exchanges of goods and services, (4) There are 6 pattern of moves are realized with other represented pattern which appeared in the text. Thus from the types of speech function, statement is the dominant, dominant Mood is elliptical declarative, dominant move is secondary knower followed by primary knower (k2 ᴧ k1), and for the pattern of move is not all pattern of move can be occurred in conversation, other pattern of move can be represented and realized in a conversation.
