Abstract

This thesis is about the role of underwriter in ‘The Indonesia Pararrel Stock Market.

Tt is a normative law research using descriptive analysis. It is a descriptive because the research on secondary data in order to understand and to clarify the role of the market maker in Indonesian over the counter market. It is also analytical because differnt aspects of the law that is related with the role of the under- writer in Indonesian over the counter market is ana- lyzed.

The library research covers the rule and regula- tion of the capital market, also literatures, articles, and other writings on capital market. For the field research, structured interviews are held. Respondents are registered issuers before the market makers were abolished, and until now they are still registered in The Indonesia Pararrel Stock Market , and underwriters who become market makers thorough the issuers concerned ,/BAPEPAM, PT Bursa Pararel Indonesia.

‘The result of the research shows that 85,8 % of the sample responded. 90 % of the respondents agree that. market maker in the over the counter market should be restored.

The writer concludes that the existence of the underwriters as market maker in Indonesia Pararrel Stock Market should be revived.
