    Abstract
The objective of the research was to find out whether there was the correlation of the conflict of nurses' double role and self-efficacy with female nurses' work satisfaction in the inpatient wards of RSUD dr. Pirngadi Medan. The data were gathered by using questionnaires which consisted of conflict scale of double role (14 items), self-efficacy scale (20 items), and work satisfaction scale (20 items). The reliability of conflict scale of double role (r) was 0.909, the reliability of self-efficacy (r) was 0.947, and the reliability of work satisfaction (r) was 0.978. The population was 330 married nurses who had children, and 174 of them were used as the samples. The data were analyzed by using multiple· linear regression analysis, and the hypothesis was tested by using t-test and F-test at the significance level of 5% and by using classic assumption test. The variables and the data distributed normally during the period of the research. Based in the test, it was found that there were no multicoliniarity and autocorrelation phenomena; it indicated that the data were available to use multiple linear regression tests. The result of the research showed that the variable of conflict of double role had negative correlation with nurses' work satisfaction which indicated that if the variable of conflict of double role increased to 1 %, the variable of work satisfaction would decrease 0.462% and vice versa. On the other hand, if the variable of self-efficacy increased to 1 %, the variable of nurses' work satisfaction also increased 0,553%. The capacity of prediction of the two variables on work satisfaction was 79%, while the rest (21 % ) was explained by other factors which were excluded from the research.
