Hubungan Faktor Individu, Motivasi Kerja dan Kepemimpinan Dokter Gigi dengan Kinerja dalam Pelayanan Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut Di Puskesmas Kabupaten Langkat Tahun 2009

Abstract

The lower coverage of oral and dental health service through indicator filling and extraction ratio 1 : 4 and effort of oral and dental health 53,43% of school children describe that oral and dental health effort was not accomplished at Langkat Regency. Dentists have an important role with the accomplishment of effort of oral and dental health service. According to Gibson (1987) performance is influenced by some factors include individual factor, working motivation and leadership. The aim was to analyze the relationship of individual factor, working motivation and leadership of dentists with performance in oral and dental health service at the public health center at Langka.t Regency 2009. This was a survey research with an explanatory approach. The population was all dentists who were on duty as the chief of dental polyclinic unit at the health center of Langka.t Regency with the total numbers were 26 people and all of them were the research samples. Collecting data was done by interview assisted with questioner and document review to obtain performance description of dentists.Data were analyzed by Chi Square test. The results of the test based on Chi square showed that there were significant relations between individual factor (p = 0,039), working motivation (p = 0,000) and leadership (p = 0. 014) with performance in oral and dental service in a 5%. It is recommended to head of Langka.t Regency of Health for : (1) controlling the conduct of management systems and budgeting program dental health care (2) using the concept of compensation in order to motivate dental working through training, courses and dentists specialist program, (3) together with the chief of health center provide guidance and supervision to improve the performance of dentists health in an accomplishment of health service optimally
