A theoretical study was made on thickness optimizing of photoactive layer
3,4,9,10-perylene tetra carboxylic dianhidride (PTCDA) in resulting maximum
Incident Photon to Current Efficiency (IPCE) of organic solar cell which is
composed of glass/ITO (Indium Tin Oxide )/CuPc ( copper phthalocyanine)
/PTCDA (3,4,9,10-perylene tetra carboxylic dianhidride )/Al. The calculation is
based on the assumption that photocurrent generation is the result of excitons
generation in PTCDA photoactive layer, that diffuse to CuPc/PTCDA interface
and finally dissociated to be free charge carrier, electron and hole. The optimum
thickness of PTCDA layer that gives maximum IPCE is 34 nm at the wavelength
467 nm. The highest IPCE is 1,106 %.
