Hidrogenasi Glukosa Menjadi Sorbitol dengan Menggunakan Katalis Pd/C dalam Pelarut N-Heksan Kering

Abstract

Hydrogenation of glucose has been done using molecular hydrogen catalyzed by heterogeneous catalysts Pd/C in N-hexane solvent dried at a temperature of 1600C and pressures of 200 psi (13.52 atm) to produce sorbitol (57,14%). The reaction mixture was isolated using vacuum distillation. Products obtained were characterized by FTIR spectroscopic analysis and HPLC.
