The quality increasing of oil palm trunk (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) by compregnated with dammar resin (Agathis dammara) has been performed. Sellulose as a natural polymer of the oil palm trunk interacted with dammar resin and the mechanical properties of the oil palm trunk was increased. OPT compregnate with dammar resin was performed in vacum compregnator with the duration time of two seconds. The temperature of compregnate was room temperature with 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% concentrations of dammar resin. The compregnated oil palm trunk was analyzed by measurement of mechanical analysis of Modulus Elasticity (MoE) and Modulus Rupture (MoR), Mophology was analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Functional group was analized by Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT-IR) and Thermal Analysis by Thermogravimetry Analysis (TGA). The result showed optimum condition was at under of OPT with dammar resin concentration of 20% with value MoE was 281,141 Mpa and dammar resin concentration of 40% with value MoR was 1,010 MPa. The result of functional group analysis at OPT and compregnated of OPT by FT-IR showed the suitable spectrum, there is no change in spectrum but the only decrease of peak area that show physical interaction. Morphology analysis by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) by zoom 500 times, showed the morphology of compregnated OPT space of parenchyma has been covered by resin. The conclusion that morphology of OPT was changed and OPT was compregnated. Thermal analysis by Thermogravimetry Analysis (TGA) showed at temperature of 400oC OPT has been lost of mass less than 50% was 29,65% and OPT compregnated has been lost of mass not less than 50% was 68,664% in OPT compregnated with 20% concentration of dammar resin, and 67,681%. In OPT compregnated with 30% therconcentration of dammar resin.en_US
