The exist of an organization is achieving the goal is depend on someone
leadership. The leader should be able to use human resources, natural resources,
facilities, fund and time effectively, and efficiently in management process. To be
a succesful leader is not easy. The relevant efforts in detennining value, style and
all activities might be mentioned as a succesful leader is the long-run process.
Based on the previous study show that employees spirit is in influenced by
the leader directly. If the leader is in working place, all employees working fully
spirit. Conversly if the leader is not, the employees do not work seriously.
The aim of this research is to know and analyze the influence of leadership
style on employees spirit in PDAM Tirtanadi Medan. The research problem is that
how the effect ofleadership style on employees spirit in PDAM Tirtanadi Medan?
The research hypothesis is leadership style effect on employees spirit in the head
office PDAM Tirtanadi Medan.
The population are 245 people and all permanent employees in the head
office in PDAM Tirtanadi Medan. Sampling technique used is statified random
sampling with sample size is 150 employees. The research used survey method
with data collecting technique by using questionaire, interview and documentation
study. The analysis employed multiple regression.
The result show that autocratic leadership style, democratic and laissez
faire influence on employees simultaneously. Fwthermore autocratic leadership
style significantly influence on employees spirit in PDAM Tirtanadi Medan.
Finally, autocratis leadership style dominating influence on employees spirit.
