The research of synthesis nanosilicon from natural sand by magnesiothermic
method with the additional of potassium chloride with ultrasonic. The Sand is
initially extracted with HCl and H2SO4 and analyzed XRD. Then silica reduced
to silicon by magnesiotermic method with ratio SiO2 : Mg was 1:2, at temperature
of 800°C for 6 hours. Then the result of reduction is purified by two methods. The
first method is to usemakuabides, HCl 2N, mixture of HCl 2N and CH3COOH
25% and mixtures CH3COOH 25% with HF 4,8% with heating at 80°C for 3
hours. And the second method is to icrease the concentration of HCl 5N, and HF
10% without heating. The purification results of the two methods were analyzed
using an analysis XRD and obtained purification results from the first method
40,4% with particle size of 42,993 nm – 58,567 nm and from second method
64,7% with particle size of 42,993 nm – 58,567 nm.
