dc.description.abstractInteresterification of Castrol oil with methanol using base catalyst gave mixture of fatty methyl ester Castrol oil. Methyl ricinolein as major composition can be acetalized with acetic anhydride to produce compound of 12-(etanoyloxy) methyl octa deca-9-enoic which was then subjected to column chromatography using petroleum Eter: diethyl Eter (19:1; v/v) as eluent, to give yield of 71 %. Amidation of 12-(etanoyloxy) methyl octa deca-9-enoic wit glucosamine under refluks condition using methanol as solvent for + 48 hours and catalyst NaOCHs, gave 2-N-2-deoxy glucopyranose) -(12- (etanayloxy) octa dece-9- ecamide}compound and 57 % yield. Both the reauctioned products, 12-(etanoyloxy) methyl octa deca-9-enoic and 2-N-2-deoxy glucopyranose)- {12- (etanoyloxy) octa deca-9-ecamide} have been confirmed their structure using FT-IR and 'H-NMR spectroscopic data, and hhidrofile and lipofile balance (HLB) value of 2-N-(2-deoxy glucopyranose) -(12- (etanoyloxy) octa deca-9-enamide} was determined by titration method 12,56.en_US
