dc.description.abstractThis research is to find out level of prehydrolitic effect and ripping process in pulp production by see the relation of kappa number and pentosan inside the pulp. The low of kappa number would save the use of chemistry material in bleaching process, so will reduce the water waste pollution also produce high quality pulp production. The result of the research showed that the value of kappa number in dissolving pulp is 6,2 and in paper pulp is 11. Every increasing of pentosan 1% will also increase kappa number 0,032, H Factor reduces kappa number meanwhile pentosan increases it. ln paper pulp, bleaching is very influence kappa number so it is known that the amount of chemistry material is going to be used in the bleaching process and the waste will reduce the environment pollution.en_US
