dc.description.abstract | In an organization or a company, the optimization employees’ performance is
influenced by leadership styles of the leaders. The advancement and deterioration of
the organization are also influenced by the leaders’ roles which can be seen in their
leadership styles. Therefore, in order to motivate the employees’ performances, the
leaders must be able to adjust their leadership styles with the situation and condition
of work environment in the company so that the employees are motivated to achieve
their good performances. In other words, the leaders should give assignments which
are suitable for the employees’ capabilities.
The aim of the research was to explain the influence of situational leadership
and work motivation on employees’ performances. Using random sampling
proportional technique, the data were collected by structured interviews referred to
questionnaires distributed to 69 employees out of 223 sample population. The data
were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis in which the test and the partial
test used t test with significant level of 5%. The hypothesis of the research was that
situational leadership and work motivation influenced the employees’ performances
at the production division of PT Arun NGL Lhokseumawe.
The results of the research showed that situational leadership and work
motivation simultaneously had significant influence on the employees’ performances
at the reliability level of 95% (α = 5%). The determination coefficient (R2 ) of
consumers’ satisfaction was 0.546, meaning that situational leadership variation and
work condition of employees’ performances were 54.6%, while the rest of 45.4% was
explained by other factors which were not included in the model. Partially, the
results of the test for situational leadership showed that there were significant and
positive influenced on the employees’ performances. For work motivation, the results
also showed that there were significant and positive influenced on the employees’
performances. The variable of situational leadership was the most dominant factor
which influenced the employees’ performances. Simultaneously, situational
leadership and work motivation had positive and significant influence on the
employees’ performances at the production division of PT Arun NGL Lhokseumawe. | en_US |
