dc.description.abstract | The people as holistic human always related to personality structure which
affecting their live including education. The theory said that a successful student
in education not only influenced by Intelligence Quotient (IQ), but also it is
influenced by personality dimension. The goal of this research was to find out
there is correlation between type of personality and cumulative achievement index
of students. It used cross sectional study method and the samples were student of
Nursing Faculty of Sumatera Utara University years of 2007, 2008 and 2009. The
instrument were adapted from type of personality questionnaire (Plegmatis,
Sanguinis, Koleris, melankolis) which designed by Florence Litteaure’s book,
Personality Plus, then type of personality correlated to academic achievement
(satisfy, very satisfying and cumlaude) pursuant to Cumulative Achievement
Index (CAI) of students. There is or not correlation between type of personality
and cumulative achievement index assessed by the chi square test using
computerized programme. The result of this research that there is correlations
between type of personality and cumulative achievement index (p value = 0,044).
The higest value of OR (Odds Ratio) was koleris (3,750) with comparator
plegmatis. This means that koleris have chance 3,75 higher than plegmatis to get
very satisfying achievement. The result of this research can be use to recognize
personality and use them to optimizing the achievement of students. | en_US |
