Extraction of silica has made from boiler ash processing of palm oil by using varying
concentrations of NaOH to increase yield of silica in a row from 7 N, 8N, and 9 N. and the
obtained results are recpectively as39.20%, 62.50%, dan 64%. Analysis FT-IR spectrum
showed a group of Si-O-Si and Si-OH which indicates silica material. Then characterization
using XRD to demonstrate the diffraction peak of amorphous silica And BET analysis to find
out the results of the nitrogen gas adsorption desorption showing the silica surface area, pore
size, and pore volume respectively 60.08 m2/g, 79 Å, dan 61.20 cc/g. And also it been done
the addition of oleic acid and palmitic acid as directores of the pore size on silica extraction
results. The result of the addition of oleic acid different from the result of palmitic acid based
adsorption desorption of nitrogen to the silica. Oleic acid is obtained using the surface area,
pore size, and pore volume respectively 40.34 m2/g, 46.08 Å, dan 28.56 cc/g. Palmitic acid
obtained while using surface area, pore size, and pore volume respectively 17.67 m2/g, 41.31
Å, dan 44.74 cc/g.
