dc.description.abstractBipolar Disorder is a mental health disorder in the form of interference with the extreme feelings of the two episodes of depression and mania. Psychological disease that is more common in people of productive age as adolescents and young adults is a strong influence lower social functioning and increased risk of suicide sufferers. One of solutions is to do a healing with Assistance Psychosocial Therapy involving the people around the patient as a companion. The purpose of this study is to identify models of assistance psychosocial therapy that can improve social functioning and reduce the risk of suicide. This research is qualitative research with descriptive method. As a research tool, the researcher is the key instrument. Researcher as the main instrument of data collection based on observations and interviews. Research objects or research resources are five people with bipolar disorder along with their care giver on Community Care of Schizoprenia in Medan. Analysis using flow models and interactive models with a version of Miles and Huberman with pattern of data reduction, data presentation, and data collection and verification. Based on the results of the study, it was found that effective models to improve social functioning people with bipolar disorder are: psychoeducation, CBT, Affection-Based Family Therapy, Coping Techniques, Coping Techniques Together, Spiritual Technique, Advice Friends and Friends of Control, Sport and Support Group. While the models to reduce the risk of suicidal patients with bipolar disorder are: Affection-Based Family Therapy, Pet Therapy, Spiritual Technique, Diaries Together, Hypnotherapy, Self Management, Creative Motivation, Music Therapy, Dream Management, Coping Techniques, Coping Techniques Together, Advice Friends and Friends of Control, and Support Groupen_US
