dc.description.abstractThe effect of resiprene and polypropylene composition by the addition of benzoyl peroxide initiator toward mechanical properties had been done. Resiprene and polypropylene mixture with benzoyl peroxide performed in reflux with xylene as solvent at 200 oC, then molded at 175 oC in ASTM D412. Next its mechanical properties characterized with tensile strength, functional group analysis with FTIR and morphological analysis with SEM. From the test, the optimum mixture ration obtained between polypropylene : respirene : BPO is 80:20:2 (phr:phr:phr). Morphological characterization with SEM in mixture ratio at polypropylene : resiprene : BPO (80:20:2) showed that it was homogenous. FTIR result showed absorption band at 883,25 wavelength which whowed C-H and 1612,49 cm-1 wavelength which showed C=C bond from resiprene and only physical interaction occured.en_US
