Edge detection method will detect all the edges or lines that form a picture or image
object and will clarify the return on these parts. The purpose of this detection is how
to object in the image can be recognized and simplified forms of the previous form.
Sobel edge detection method is a development of the basic methods of edge detection.
Designing a procedure to implement measures Sobel edge detection method will
produce a different image display with reliefs showing the effect or effects therein
Sobel. Relief effect is like a rough stone-carved look, the lines that form a rough
depiction of the object therein. Relief effect is formed from light and dark shadows.
Both of these shadows are the result of the beam on the image of a particular
direction. The data used is a sample image of the female reproductive organs in the
form of image files ending in. Bmp (bitmap).
In doing edge detection using Sobel operator produces a rich smooth image edges. But
still has shortcomings in the detection of edges in the image, where the detection is
still there is a missing edge in the image, making it difficult to distinguish the part of
the image. The advantages of this sobel method is the ability to reduce noise before
performing the calculation of edge detection so that the edges are generated much
more. From the results of the testing program by using the 5 sample images of the
female reproductive organ cancers are different, obtained the percentage contribution
of 20%, against the sharpness of the edge image of the female reproductive organ
cancers
