Medan City who are exposed to hoax news about COVID-19 vaccinations. The
research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a convenience
sampling technique of sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 120 people.
Data was collected using a Likert scale. The data analysis method used is descriptive
statistics. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the majority of the people of Medan
City are in the category of being less exposed to COVID-19 vaccination hoax news;
(2) only a small part of the people of Medan City are highly exposed to hoax news; (3)
the majority of the people of Medan City who are less exposed to hoax news about
COVID-19 vaccinations have a positive attitude towards COVID-19 vaccination and
have carried out booster vaccinations; (4) a small part of the people of Medan City
who are highly exposed to the hoax news of COVID-19 vaccination also have a positive
attitude towards COVID-19 vaccination and have carried out a second vaccination
and booster vaccination. There is no significant difference in attitude towards COVID-
19 vaccination between the people of Medan City who are less exposed and highly
exposed to the hoax news of COVID-19 vaccination. Because at the time of data
collection, the obligation to vaccinate against COVID-19 was imposed in order to be
able to carry out learning and work activities, travel domestically and internationally,
and visit public areas. The implication of this research is to provide information about
attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccination so that it can be used as consideration for the
Medan City Government and Satgas COVID-19 in dealing with the COVID-19
pandemic in Medan City.
