    Abstract
    This research is a descriptive research that aims to see how the image of Medan public’s perception of inclusive education. According Sapon-Shevin (in Direktori PLB, 2004) inclusive education is system of educational system wich requires all children with special needs, as mental disabilities, physical, socioeconomic, culture and ethnic are served in regular school together peers. According Bennet (2003) inclusive education is one implementation form of multicultural education is education that respect of diversity. Multicultural education is necessary by people have multi-ethnic and want to pursue education quality and equity (Bennet, 2003). Medan is a city in Indonesia is a multicultural city that consists of many culture, religion and ethnic. Wich the condition. Medan city would require multicultural education is inclusive education. Unfortunately, inclusive education is not developed optimal in Medan not as Java. Noted there are 14 inclusion schools and only a few active of them (BPS, 2005). Pre research results showed that Medan people have view and opinion different of inclusive education, therefore author want to see further how the description of Medan public’s perception of inclusive education. This research used sample is 133 person representing Medan people. Sampling techniques used is cluster random sampling, is from 21 area in Medan city taked 5 area by random, from selected all area would taken again 1 village by random. Measuring instrument is a perception of inclusive education scale and was made by researcher herself based on five element of inclusion education that was put forward by Sapon-Shevin (in Direktori PLB, 2004). Test of item discrimination was conducted by using correlation coefficient of Pearson Product Moment and the test of reliability of the tool done by using coefficient technique of Alpha Cronbach with value of 0,978. The research result showed that Medan people have positive perception of inclusive education is 47,36% (63 people) and people have negative perception is 45,86% (61 people) and people can not categorized is 6,76% (9 people).
