Analisis Makna Struktur Klenteng See Hin Kiong Ditinjau dari Feng Shui

Abstract

The title of this paper is "Analysis Meaning of See Hin Kiong Temple Structure Reviewed From Feng Shui". The reason the author examines See Hin Kiong Temple because the author wanted to know the meaning of this temple structure which is the largest and oldest temple in the province of West Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to know how the application of Feng Shui on the meaning of See Hin Kiong Temple structure. This building shows the existence of Chinese ethnic in West Sumatra. The result of this paper research shows the whole structure of See Hin Kiong Temple apply Feng Shui rules and each structure has its own meaning. The research method that the writer use is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The theory author uses is the Three Trichotomies Sign by Charles Sanders Peirce.

Judul skripsi ini adalah “Analisis Makna Struktur Klenteng See Hin Kiong Ditinjau Dari Feng Shui”. Alasan penulis meneliti Klenteng See Hin Kiong karena penulis ingin mengetahui makna struktur klenteng ini yang merupakan klenteng terbesar dan tertua di provinsi Sumatera Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan Feng Shui pada pemaknaan struktur Klenteng See Hin Kiong. Bangunan ini menunjukkan eksistensi etnis Tionghoa di Sumatera Barat. Hasil penelitian skrispsi ini menunjukkan keseluruhan struktur Klenteng See Hin Kiong menerapkan kaidah Feng Shui dan setiap struktur tersebut mempunyai makna tersendiri. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teori yang penulis gunakan adalah Teori Trikonomi Semiotika Arsitektural oleh Charles Sanders Peirce.
