The research about morphology and distribution of haramonting (Rhodomyrtus
tomentosa) was carried out in December 2013- August 2014 in Southern area Of
Sumatera Utara Province. Study location are Labuhan Batu Selatan,
Padanglawas, Padanglawas Utara, and Tapanuli selatan District. The aims of
this study, to determine morphological variation and distribution area of
haramonting in 4th district. The research used observation method Data was
collected by observation and collection. Data collected about morphology, soil
nutrient, phytochemicals constituent, environmental parameters, and coordinate
point. Data about morphology and soil nutrient showed by descriptive analysis.
Distribution data showed with map using Arc. View 3. 3 Software. The results
showed morphology character same in each area. Variation just on habitat,
bight stem, stem diameter, and skin stem texture. Leave, fruit, and skin stem
phytochemicals constituent analysis showed, alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid,
and tannin, have found. Soil Analysis showed different content in each area, N N
(0,02-0,09%), P (8,44-10,44 ppm), and K (0,08-0,041 m.e/W0g). The map showed
haramonting have found in 1500-4500 mm/years rainfall, and humic acrisols soil
area.
