The isolation of essential oil from the peel of Citrus hystrix DC. of the family Rutaceae by maceration was carried out using gliserolysis reaction products as solvents, i.e., Glyserolat Stearins (1:9; 5:5; 9:1) in an attempt to find a substitute for lard and tallow. Isolation was also done by water distillation. The separation of Triglyceride, Diglyceride and Monoglyceride from their mixture in the which Gliserolat Stearin was accomplished by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography. IR. The analysis of essential oil components was done by GC-MS and FT- The results showed that Glyserolat Stearins (1:9; 5:5; 9:1) were good solvents for essential oil. Among the Glyserolat Stearins (1:9; 5:5; 9:1), the Glyserolat Stearin (5:5) found was to be the best solvents as reflected in the essential oil composition.en_US
