dc.description.abstractSynthesis of 2-methoxy -2-(methyl-ẞ-butanon)-4-methylene lauryl-1,3 dioksolane compound (MMB-MLD) through ketalization reaction of 1-lauroy! glycerol with methyl levulonic gave 80% result. The structure of the result in each reaction steps was confirmed by using FT-IR and 'H-NMR spectroscopies. On determining with Do-Nouy Tensiometer, the values of critical micelle concentration (CMC) and HLB of 1- lauroyl glycerol were 5 x 10% and 3.43. Whereas values of CMC and HLB of MMB-MLD were 3 X 10-2 % and 4.078. The results of this measurement indicated that MMB-MLD compound was more hydrophilic than 1-lauroyl glycerol.en_US
