The national telecommunication industries have experienced very
fast development. The govemment decision that there is no discrimination
toward" both intgmational and domestic telecommunication servive
companies in lndonesia, has led to a very strong business competition. To
faql_this competition and to achieve the company's goar, the management
bf PT lndosat requires its employees to improve their performances.
The objective of this research is to find out the influence of the
leadership style arrd job satisfaction on the employees' performance of pT
lndosat Division of west Regional Medan and also to find out the
dominant factor ulhich influence the employees' performances. This is a
descriptive research using survey method. The sampling technique used
is proportionate stratified nndom sampling method. The employees which
is under middle manager are selected as target population (71 employees)
and the sampling size is sixty employees as respondents. Tle data are
collected using ques0onnaire, interview and observation. The variables
are measured with Ure Likert Scale. The validity of instrument is tested
using construct valkl{y and reliability of the instrument is tested using
cronbactr alpha. Tho datra are pr@essed using softrare of Spss 10.0
and analyzed with deocriptive analysis and hypothesis test using multiple
linear regression analyris.
The result of this research shows that; (1) simultaneousry, the
leadership style and iob satisfaction has positive and significant influence
on the employees" pefformance, (2) partially, the leadership style has
positive and significant inlluence on the employees' performance; the job
satislaction has positrve and significant on the employees' performance.
(3) The leadership style has dominant influence on the employees'
performance compared to the influences of job satisfaction on the
em ployees' performance.
