dc.description.abstract | To create work satisfaction in the employees, it is necessa,y to know the factors
influencing it. Several previous studies show that performance evaluation and career
development are the factors influencing the work satisfaction. The problems frequently
appear in the process of evaluation are how objective the evaluation process can be
defended With the ability to defend the objectivity of evaluation, the result of evaluation
can be purely accurate and valid. In addition to performance evaluation, work
satisfaction of the employees is also closely related to the career development provided
by the company but this career development for the employees does not properly work.
This condition shows that it is necessary to provide the employees with an objective
performance ei,'tlluation and gfre the other employees an opportunity to dewdop. their
career in accordance with the existing provisions. The purpose of this study was to find
out and analyze the influence of performance evaluation and career development on
work satisfaction of the employees of PT. Surveyor Indonesia Medan Branch. Through
census sampling method, all of the 37 population of this study were selected to be the
samples of study. The data obtained were analyzed through multiple linear regression
tests. The result of study showed that simultaneously the performance evaluation and
career development had a positive and significant influence on the work satisfaction of
the employees while, partially, each variable had a positive and sign,ificant influence on
the work satisfaction of the employees. Performance evaluation had a more dominant
influence on the work satisfaction of the employees of PT. Surveyor Indonesia Medan
