    Abstract
    Edge detection methods will detect all edges or lines that form a picture or image object and will clarify the return on these parts. The purpose detection is how to keep the object in the image can be recognized and simplified form of the previous shape. Edge has an excellent contrast intensity values compared to adjacent pixels (neighborhood). Edge detection can be a filter to eliminate information that is not needed, or more commonly referred to as noise or noise. With edge detection, the structure of the property or object in the image is maintained. Designing a procedure by applying the method steps Sobel Operator, Operator and Prewitt Operator Robert, will produce a different image display showing relief or adverse effects Sobel therein. Relief effect is like a rough stone-carved look, the rough lines that form an object representation therein. In doing edge detection using 3 Operator will produce a different image edges. But still lacks in edge detection on the image, which still exist in the detection of a broken edge in the image, making it difficult to distinguish parts of the image. The advantage of this method is the ability Sobel to reduce noise prior to the calculation of edge detection so that the edges produced more, Operator Robert was able to perform the gradient computation in 2-D image with a more simple and quick and is actually similar to the Prewitt Operator for Sobel operator used is 3x3.
