dc.description.abstract | Background: There is a physiological decrease in testosterone with increasing age and associated with menopause. The menopausal transition is associated with sexual dysfunction for many women, especially with regard to libido. Testosterone is one of the hormones known to be involved in this sexual function.
Destination: This research aims to analyzed the correlation between testosterone levels and sexual function in postmenopausal women.
Method: This research is a descriptive observational study with a case series approach which is conducted at the Aras Kabu Health Center, Outpatient Polyclinic and carried out in May until August 2022. The normality test was carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk test. If the data is not normally distributed, then the data will be analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. If the data is normally distributed, the data analysis will use the Pearson correlation test.
Results: There is a significant relationship between FSFI score with testosterone levels and duration of menopause with p value <0.05. Testosterone levels, FSFI scores and duration of menopause all had a significant relationship with a p value below 0.05. The degree of correlation found was a correlation degree of 0.619 between testosterone levels and FSFI values indicating a moderate and significant positive correlation. A correlation degree of 0.482 was found between FSFI and length of menopause which indicated a moderate positive correlation which was significant while the degree of correlation between testosterone levels and length of menopause was found to be 0.711 which indicated a strong and significant positive correlation.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between FSFI scores with testosterone levels and duration of menopause as well. It also found a significant relationship between testosterone levels and the duration of menopause. | en_US |
