This research is aimed at knowing the ffict of bffie spacing toward thermal
performance and pressure drop of shell and tube heat exchanger of triangle
arrangement by Jlowing water as hot fluids on the tube side and air as cold Jluids on
the shell side. The test is done by one-shell-pass and one-tube-pass heat exchanger as
input parameter of single segment buf/le, (bafrle cut of 22.61%o), and six various
bafrle spacing- 36 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 5l mm, 59 mm, 7l mm with its six various air
velocity and constantJlow rate hot water respectively. Where as the output parameter
which is reached for air temperature is around 50-650C. The result of the research
showed that a maximum thermal performance (cofficient heat transfer) with Nusselt
number Q,{u) and minimum pressure drop withfrictionfactor (fl is found in 45 mm of
baffle spacing. It is also found that the empirical correlation between Nusselt
