dc.description.abstractRecently, noise is regarded as something very disturbing especially during the day time but as long as the noise is still within its tolerance, people usually do not care abcn,l;f it. Cons<:iQus.ly or un<:ons<;iou§(y, noist;I </,Qt;IS not h.e!V? good effect to human health such as temporary deafness, psychologi.cal disorders (trauma), and other health problems. Noise control not only reduces the noise sources but also makes barrier using dampening materials. The dampening materials are seldom found whereas they are very important because they are the colsest to human daily life. Coeffki?.nt absorption (a) is on?. oft~ importqn( pqrqm?.t?.rs in tktermining to what extent a material can absorb/reduce the noise. Rockwool has been long used as si/incer but the Rockwool can be mixed with polyester then it is tested to obtain the absorptive and tensile strength of the composite with Rockwool fiber filling. The method of Reverberation Room is one of the testing methods to obtain the cQefji<;ient qbsQrption_ of a matt?riq(, this mt?thP4 will b?. ~?.4. in this tt?st in which all of the noise energy will be diffused to the room thet the level of noise pressure on all points in the room is equally ideal, and the reverberation time is measured. In addition, to obtain the coefficient absorption, a simulation using NX NASTRAN for FEMAP software is conducted. The result of this test showed that the tensile strength found was 27.S4 Mfa. .. Mo4.ul~ El&ti<; wa.s 18,7,l MPa, and thtf density was 1336.8 kg/m3 , coefficient absorption of the result of experiment a = 0.56483410 at frequency of 100 Hz, the result of simulation a = 0.579 at frequency of400Hz.en_US
