Analysis of survival (Survival Analysis) is specialized statistical analysis used to
analyze the data variables related to the time until the appearance of an event. The
high level of student success and lower failure rates can reflect the quality of the
student learning process of a college. The need for analysis and information about
the factors that affect the S-1 student study Faklutas Management Economics,
University of North Sumatra, the reason for an examination of the survival time
student. The results showed descriptively of 229 college students found 116 cases
(50.7%) who experienced the events of graduation. Kaplan-Meier method was
used to estimate the probability of survival period of study students. The factors
that significantly affect the course duration students are from the high school, and
IPK asuk lines. This study also used Cox regression hazard proportioan as a
model that describes the study duration greater risk students based on factors that
affect the survival. Based on the model obtained with a high IPK student has the
opportunity pass 2,103 times greater than a low IPK.
