dc.description.abstractAn urban development is a physical change of building constructions as a result of townspeople's development, where the road network facility is one of the important infrastructures in advancing regional development whose main function is to connect the economic activities among the areas and their vicinities. Road construction has significant influence on the development of urban activity development, such as education, industry, commerce, health, and settlement as new production centers and on the urban service orientation from internal to external or regional services. Consequently, urban development influences road functions. The development of land use through conversion process from dense residence (Setia Budi Indah Residence) to commercial area occurs because there is an interaction and a demand for the economic based activity system. This gradual conversion will cause land area to be broader and its use toward commercialization. On the other hand, it also changes its function from a residence to economic (commercial) land There are some problems, along with the increase in urban/building physical development along the roadsides which influences their function so that a study on the influence of urban development on the function of industrial roads as primary arterial roads is necessary. These problems were studied by conducting a survey, by identifying building condition in the vicinity and road condition, and by observing traffic speed The data of the survey were then analyzed by using legal provisions on roads. The result of the research showed that urban development influenced arterial roads such as the curbing of traffic speed because of the lack of parking lots so that there were side obstacles. There was also no access to the entrance so that it caused local movement.en_US
