Abstract

Effect of Community Organizing and Community Development SPI (Indonesian Peasants Union) Against The Socio-Economic Conditions of Peasant in the Village of Mekar Jaya, Wampu Subdistrict, Langkat District. (This thesis consists of 6 chapters, 187 pages, 36 tables, 46 libraries, 47 questionnaire respondents, and 9 interview respondents) Conditions of peasants in Indonesia as the backbone of the nation has so many problems, especially those in socio-economic terms. A wide variety of paradigms and methods have been implemented in the solution of problems faced by the Peasants. A wide variety of paradigms and methods have been implemented in the solution of problems encountered the farmers. Therefore, needed a review of academic in the form of research on the method which in this case is Community Organizing and Community Development that executed in the SPI (Indonesian Peasants Union). The problem addressed in this study problem is what’s kind of the process of community organizing and community development Indonesian Peasants Union and to what extent their effects on socio-economic conditions of peasant in the Village of Mekar Jaya, Wampu Subdistrict, Langkat District. This research aims to find out the process of community organizing and community development Indonesian Peasants Union and to know the the extent of its influence on the socio-economic conditions of peasant in the Village of Mekar Jaya, Wampu Subdistrict, Langkat District. This research uses explanatif types, that is picture the causal link. This research was conducted in the Village of Mekar Jaya, Wampu Subdistrict, Langkat District, the number of samples is 47 people. Data collection techniques using literature studies and field studies using research instruments, by interviews and kueisioner. The data obtained will be tabulated into a table and then be analyzed, and then the data is processed by a quantitative method through product moment correlation analysis. This research hypothesis is that there is influence between Community Organizing and Community Development SPI on socio-economic conditions of peasant. Based on the data obtained, after analyzed and concluded that the form of community organizing and community development of SPI is to build relationships between peasants are organized, cadre education of peasants, working together, land reclaiming, and economic development, and to what extent their effects on socio-economic conditions of peasant in the Village of Mekar Jaya, Wampu Subdistrict, Langkat District is to have a strong positive relationship with the value of the correlation (rxy) of 0.862. Also known that the regression test every increase of 1 unit, then the effect of community organizing and community development SPI will increase by 1.54 units and the determination coefficient of 74.23%.
