Abstract

Research on Social Movements in Logging Termination (Case Studies on Social Movements Dismissal Tele Deforestation in the Village of Hariara Pintu Regency Harian District of Samosir) aims to determine the role of the Forum PESONA in social movement action, describing the process of social movements Forum PESONA, and to know response of the local community villagers Hariara Pintu on social movements Forum PESONA proficiency level. This type of research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach, the case study method. Research with case study aims to explore in detail about the case of social movements in a variety of actions that can terminate the operations of PT. Gorga Duma Sari (GDS). This research was conducted by observation, interviews and studies kepustakan. The informants in this study is the driving figures of Forum PESONA and local community village in Hariara Pintu. Based on research, Forum PESONA serves as a means of community mobilization, socialization means values for environmental awareness, and as a means of advocacy for alleged violation of law for which the government gave permission and the owner of the company. In addition, the process of social movements Forum PESONA similar to the analysis of collective action which proposed by Max Weber, and there are different public response, there is a social movement that supports Forum PESONA, which supports the company's presence there, but there are also people who do not want to get involved in this case.
