Peranan Solidaritas Buruh Sumatera Utara (SBSU) dalam Memperjuangkan Hak-Hak Normatif Buruh di PT Asia Karet Medan

Abstract

Flow of progress and economic development of the country that drove and growing rapidly led to rampant growth of the business in various fields. Growth and development of the industrial sector certainly use labor as a key contributor in the course of the economy. But in the course of industrial relations there are many conflicts between employer/company with the workers, which caused a conflict of interest valuable asset of both parties. The opposition has always been detrimental to workers, resulting in social protest made the workers. Forms of exploitation by the company or the owners of capital to labor also occurs in the PT. Asia Karet Medan. The workers who work in the company affected by the atrocities that led to the violation employers' basic rights of workers or labor. Policies carried out by the company are considered detrimental to workers as relatively low wages, lack of health insurance and safety in performing job activities, rampant mutations that do not work to the appropriate expertise to kill the character of labor workers, the prohibition of association and assembly of workers who fought on Unilateral Termination of Employment (PHK) by companies and others. The impact of the cruelty of capitalism experienced workers affected is a problem that must be addressed sosisal by parties related to labor issues. The research method used in this research is qualitative research with case study approach (case study) descriptive type, the number of informants 6 people. The research location is Solidaritas Buruh Sumatera Utara (SBSU) PT. Asia Karet Medan. Interviews were conducted by using an interview guide, so some questions that are not answered by an informant can be asked back to another informant who is considered more aware of the problems of research. From the research conducted, the workers suffered varying pressure from the company, which raised a resistance in the form of social protest. Resistance is done the workers with a variety of strategies, starting with the negotiations to the social movements of the workers. All of the effort by the workers in all the constraints that there can be said to get a point of light toward a success.
