dc.description.abstract | The development of electronic technology, especially in the field of microcontrollers
occur very rapidly. Has a lot of application and utilization of microcontrollers that
are useful in everyday life as well as in the research laboratory. In this project task
used ATmega 8535 microcontrollers from Atmel products as a measure of
distance by using Ultrasonic Distance sensor to determine the distance of an
object with high accuracy. Ultrasonic sensor has a frequency of 40 KHz. The
sensor consists of a transmitter and receiver of ultrasonic waves. Transmitter will
emit a series of ultrasonic waves in a time of 200 microseconds. This wave
through the air at speeds of approximately 344 m / sec.If this wave of an object,
then this wave will be reflected back to the receiver of ultrasonic sensors. The
method used is to utilize (Timer / Counter) that already exist in the
microcontroller. Microcontroller ATmega 8535 has speeds up to 8MHz frequency
generator, the ability of 8-bit counter, as well as using the C language as a
programming language. Code Vision AVR is one of the software that uses Code
Vision AVR C language was designed by considering the encoding properties of
the C language compiler generated so that a program can be as small as possible
and as quickly as possible. The result of the design of this tool will be obtained
from the object distance measurement ultrasonic wave sensor with a
