dc.description.abstract | KWh-meter is a tool that serves to measure and record the energy consumption of
electricity consumed by the customer. Most kWh-meter available today, especially in the
residential neighborhood is still a conventional kWh-meter. Society in general does not
understand how the reading of the electrical power consumption stated on the kWh-meter
conventional. KWh-meter measuring instrument has been experiencing growth in recent
years. It was supported because of the developments in the world of digital technology. From
kWh-meter limitation of conventional and rapid digital information technology, as well as to
more efficiently utilize kWh-meter existing conventional raised an idea to design a kWhmeter
conventional development is on the side of zoom by adding multiple unit system. The
addition of multiple units of the system in the form of a microcontroller ATmega8 as the
central control system, ACS712 current sensor to detect the incoming flow, and the LCD as a
digital display.
KWh-meter digital display will facilitate the reading and the possibility of errors
reading / recording kWh-meter value will not happen again. System testing is done by giving
the load on kWh-meter so kWh-meter dish on a rotating and a reduction in the number of
pulses kWh-meter. Reduction of the number of pulses kWh-meter continues to run out in
