ABSTRACT
Response Surface Method is a mathematical and statistical techniques used in the response
analysis to optimize the response. Response Surface Method applied to a lot of industrial
fields. Theemerging industries today is the palm oil industry . In palm oil industry, boiling is
one of the main factors that determine the success of the production of palm oil. In the
process of boiling oil loss always occur. In the boiling process, fresh fruit bunches heated at
a temperature of 130-140 0
C, the vapor pressure of 2-2.5 kg/cm2 and within 80-100
minutes. In this study Response Surface Method used to minimize the amount of oil that is
shipped with the boiling water. Temperature, pressure and boiling time are the
independent variables and the amount of oil that is shipped with boiling water is the
response variable . Analysis of the data by using Response Surface Method gives the result
that the amount of oil that is shipped with boiling water to the optimum will be obtained by
using the boiling temperatures of 1370 C, and within 85 minutes. With the amount of oil that
is is shipped with boiling water is0.4453% .
