ABSTRACT
Tamiang Krueng River is a large river that divides the two cities of Kuala
Simpang, Aceh Tamiang. The flow of water entering the estuaries of Krueng
Tamiang indicate contain contaminants. This happens because there is a river
that runs along the factory or industrial activity in households, markets and
hospitals that operate and dispose of waste into the river. This study aims to
determine the water quality conditions and differences in levels of COD
(Chemical Oxygen Demand) in Krueng Tamiang river. This study was taken from
the data results of Bapedal Aceh laboratory in 2013. Water quality parameters
studied were COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand). This study was conducted in
seven points with five repetitions locations along the watershed. In accordance
with the Indonesian republic regulation no. 82 In 2001, the quality standards used
are class II, 25 mg / l. From the analysis using one-way analysis of variance in
completely randomized design showed that the α = 1% then the F count <F table
{0,01 (6,28)} or 1.169 <3.53 so that the river water is still good condition.
Because there is no real difference then continued with Bartlett test analysis in
order to obtain b = b (0:01; 5) or 0.5207 <0.9816. This means that the data has
the same variance homogeneity.
