dc.description.abstract | This research on the method of learning music for Batak Toba to students with visual disabilities was conducted at the Karya Murni Foundation on Jalan Karya Wisata No. 6 sub-districts of Medan Johor, Medan City. The object of the author's research study is the practical learning method of playing the uning-uningan instrument which is applied in accordance with the conditions of the students as people with visual impairments (limitations/inability to function of the sense of sight) and the process of understanding and applying techniques for playing musical instruments by students. the. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of applying the practice learning method to play the uning-uningan instrument for students with visual impairments and the process of understanding and applying the techniques of playing the uning-uningan musical instrument by students with visual impairments themselves. The research method used by the author is a qualitative research method. To obtain data in the field, the author made interview, recording, partisipation observation conlution according of the student experience as one of the students who took part in the learning of Toba Batak dance music at the Karya Murni Foundation and. The research results are holistically written and arranged by means of descriptions in the form of words and language. The theories used are the contextual learning proposed by Sumiati and Asra and the Gordon music learning theory by E. Edwin Gordon. The process of applying the Toba Batak music practice learning method to students with visual is done by Mr. Marsius Sitohang as techer by using conventional learning methods, demonstrations and drill according conclution and experience of the student who folllow the learning. The process of understanding and applying the techniques of playing the uning-uningan musical instrument by students with visual disabilities is carried out using touch, feeling and hearing. Every learning material that is known, observed and understood in detail by touching/holding, feeling and listening, the students are able to practice the learning material independently by keeping use touch and feeling and do exercises regularly. | en_US |
