ABSTRACT
PT. Sumatera Specialty Coffees is one of the companies engaged in agribusiness,
especially coffees. The main ingredients of cosffees from farmers, farmer groups
and suppliers of coffees. Purchase of coffees in focus at the branch office
Siborongborong. This study discusses coffees production planning using the
Bowman Transportation Matrix Model devoted to problems in which the source is
always greater than or equal to the goal, so that the goal can not be greater than
the source. So far in the production process, PT. Sumatra Speciality Coffees has
not been managed well. Where, every day of the production process is done
simply adjusted by the amount of raw materials or terms in this company called
Kopi Tanduk Basah (KTB) entering to the company. Often emploiees at this
company have to work overtime because of many KTB are entered. Without
customized with Biji Hijau Kering (BHK) that already exist in the warehouse.
Though BHK delivery to Berastagi are always adjusted to the demand. So in a
certain period, BHK in warehouses could exceed the capacity. So when it happens
and no incoming KTB, stripping and drying process will terminate in a given
period. The purpose application Bowman Transportation Matrix Model in
production planning is to memanejemen production process or often referred to
as production scheduling. The result of this study is to produce an optimal amount
of production for January - June 2015 in the amount of 33 781 kg, 414 506 kg,
346 849 kg, 384 014 kg, 493 401 kg, and 477 529 kg. Where production is done
entirely on regular business hours. So in this case the company does not need to
work overtime. And with the cost of production by Rp83.816.568.640,00.
