This study investigated the characteristics of conductive plastics with a basis of
starch tuber skin of wood and fillers CuSO4 . Variations mix is 95 % : 5 % ; 90 %
: 10 % ; 85 % : 15 % ; 80 % : 20 % and 75 % : 25 % . Glycerol is used to change
the desired material (plasticizer). The method used in the manufacture of this
material is melt intercalation . Mechanical testing includes tensile strength
(Tensile Stranght) and elongation at break (elongation) . Thermal testing using the
DTA (Differentia Thermal Analysis) as well as testing the conductivity of the
material . The results showed that the composition of starch : CuSO4 optimum is
75 % : 25 % have a conductivity value of 7.3 x 10-2S / m , the value of the thermal
test 410o C . Optimum tensile strength values occur in a composition of 80 % : 20
% to the value of 4,606 MPa .
