dc.description.abstractCorrosion problem affects nearly all metallic materials, to reduce corrosion problems with the coating NiCoCr on commercial steel substrate by electroplating techniques and pack-cementation was performed in the early prevention. Immersion method based on ASTM G31 is used for corrosion tests in HCl environment. Testing of mechanical properties is done by Vickers hardness test. Samples were analyzed by using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) that equipped with EDS (Energy dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy). From the results of microstructural analysis shows that the NiCoCr layered has been successfully protecting commercial steel substrate from corrosion problems. This research has been successful in increasing the value of Vickers hardness of 118.75 to 696.40 VHN and increased corrosion resistance from 4299.90 mdd to 124.32 mdd. This study has succeeded superimposing NiCoCr layers on substrate commercial steel with Electroplating and Pack Cementation method.en_US
