dc.description.abstract | A research on the manufacture of powder lib(C2O4)2 or Lithium bis
(oxalato) borate or LIBOB. LIBOB is a prime candidate replacement LiPF6
electrolyte lithium batteries which are highly toxic and dangerous to human
health. LiBOB has the advantage that no gas form and is more environmentally
friendly because the compound does not contain halogens which could potentially
pollute the environment. Stages of the process was conducted on the composition
calculation, weighing, mixing and combustion. To determine the phase and
identify the spectrum of the sample XRD and FTIR analysis. This process begins
with the calculation of the chemical composition oxalic acid dihydrate (H2C2O4
.2H2O), boric acid (H3BO3), and Lithium hydroxide (LiOH), with a mole ratio of
2: 1: 1. Furthermore, the powder is mixed with crushed so obtained mixture is
fairly flat. Do 120o
C 110o
C and 100o
C temperature combustion,. Then powder
produced LiBOB analyzed by XRD and FTIR. XRD results showed that the phase
is a phase formed LiBOB, LiBOB hydrate phase, a phase metaborit (HBO2) and
lithium hydroxide hydrate phase (Li(OH) (H2O). And the FTIR results showed
functional group C=O, C=O, COO, C-O-B-O-C, C-O-C, O-B-O, COO, B-O.
