Pemanfaatan Arang Aktif Sekam Padi (Oriza Sativa) sebagai Adsorben Pada Peningkatan Kualitas Minyak Goreng Bekas
Abstract
Has done research on the purification of used cooking oil with the adsorbent from rice husk.
This study aims to determine how the ability of activated charcoal rice husk in the adsorption
process used cooking oil. Another aim was to determine the most appropriate time of the time
range that is used to process used cooking oil adsorption using activated carbon from rice
husk. Activated charcoal made by burning rice husk and activated using H3PO4 5% to the
activation temperature of 800oC. Activated charcoal obtained is used to adsorb used cooking
oil by varying the amount of activated charcoal as many as 5, 10 da 15 grams. Activated
charcoal and cooking oil that has been mixed is adsorbed by the time variation of 40, 60 and
80 minutes using a magnetic stirrer. Once filtered, the oil is analyzed density, moisture
content, free fatty acid and peroxide. The results showed that the weight of activated carbon
and contact time are variables that influence. relatively good shape is obtained on the weight
of activated carbon 15 grams and 80 minutes contact time with the acquisition of density
0,9004 g / l, the water content of 0.075%, free fatty acid content of 0,2335% and 0.07 meq
peroxide / gr.
