ABSTRACT
Factor analysis is a statistical technique used to reduce / summarize the data,
analyze the variables suspected of having links with one another so that the
association can be explained and mapped or grouped on the right factors. In this
study used factor analysis to find out what are the dominant factors affecting the
level of anxiety in finishing thesis students in the Science Faculty USU. Based on
the results of 78 students of the Science Faculty USU gained four dominant
factors that can affect the level of anxiety of students in completing the thesis are:
laziness factor (26,050%), emotional factors (16,076%), physical factors
(13,277%), and the factor of science (12,684%). These four factors provide
diversity cumulative proportion of (68,087%), meaning that all four of these
factors can affect the level of anxiety in finishing thesis students in the Science
Faculty USU and the rest can be influenced by other factors that were not
identified by the research model.
