dc.description.abstract | A research about the polymer roof production consisting of sinabung’s vulcanic dust, asphalt with polypropylene resin adhesive has been conducted. This research was using vulcanic dust as the material of polymer roof production, it was used to substitute sand and to find out the best mixing of sinabung’s vulcanic dust with polypropylene resin adhesive. Vulcanic dust was the independent variable which was 5 gr of asphalt as the water resistant. Then it was pressed by Hot Compressor for 20 minutes at 1500 C. The characteristic of polymer which was analyzed were physic : water absorb ability and density, mechanic : impact and elasticity strength. The results of this research have shown that optimal mixing of vulcanic dust and polypropylene resin is (45:50) gr and additional 5 gr of asphalt. Water absorb ability rate is 5.88 %, density is 1.16 gr/cm3 , impact strength is 3.78 kJ/m2 , and elasticity strength is 34.53 mPa. | en_US |
