dc.description.abstractA research about absorption of sound energy by acoustic board composite made from combination of Agave angustifolia haw fiber and adhesive polyester has been conducted. This composite made from composition of Agave i.e. 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The absorbtion coefficients was measured by impedance tube method with ASTM E-1050-98, the NRC value was found i.e. 0.46 – 0.91 that the ratio of composition of Agave fiber and polyester 15% : 85% has been showed the highest number (0.91). The density of this composite board was 0.486 – 1.021 g/cm3 which was appropriate with SNI 01–4449–2006 standard. To acquire the tensile strength and flexural strength value of the composite board, the mechanical testing was carried out too. The result of tensile strength was 10,926 kJ/m2 – 16,104 kJ/m2 and flexural strength was 2,817 – 26,967 MPa.en_US
