dc.description.abstract | The study have done in research and manufacturing of lightweight concrete block, using volcanic ash, banana rods fiber and polyester resin as binder material. Composition variations prepared for this study include variations of banana stem fiber: 0,1,2,3,4,5, and 6 grams with total weight of volcanic ash that is used and the polyester resin: 50% of the total mixture of volcanic ash and banana rods fiber. Physical and mechanics quantitiesperformed include: density, water absorption, porosity, flexural strength, impact and tensile strength. Density = 1.6127 to 1.5204 g / cm3, Absorption of water = 0.253 to 2.181%, porosity = 0.408 to 3.520%, and the mechanical properties include Strong Impact = 3924-14918 J / m2, Bending Strength = 9.424 - 31,048MPa , Strong Pull = 4.066 to 16.065 MPa.The addition of fiber tends to lower the density and increase the value of water absorption, porosity and tensile strength. | en_US |
